INFI Connect — Quick Guide (Square Merchants)
This guide is for restaurants whose menu is connected to Square. Read the first part once, then use the everyday steps below.
First: check your Square sync settings
In the app you choose whether your menu syncs with Square or not. If syncing is on, a few things are controlled by Square — not by the app. Most importantly, if item status and item picture are synced, you can’t change them on your phone. Here’s how to check and fix it:
Step 1 — Open Manage Items
Go to the POS tab. On your Square location, tap Manage Items.
Step 2 — Open the sync settings
On the Items & Menus screen, find Library & Menu Sync and tap Edit.
Step 3 — Uncheck status & picture
Look at Item Image and Item & Item Variation Availability:
- If they are checked, Square controls them — you can’t change item status or pictures in the app (change them in Square instead).
- If you uncheck them and tap Save, you can change status and pictures in the app. We recommend this if you want to manage availability from your phone.
Everything else below works the same whether you sync or not.
Open a menu (and preview it)
Tap the Menus tab to see all your menus. Tap any menu to open it.
To see exactly what guests see, tap Kiosk Preview (bottom-right), choose a location, and tap Preview This Location.
Change menu availability (hours)
To change the days and hours a menu is available:
- Open the menu and tap the Settings tab.
- Next to Time Schedule, tap Edit, set the hours, and save.
You can also edit Date and Visible For (channels and dining options) on this tab.
Search for a menu, item, or modifier
The fastest way to find something is the search bar at the top of the Menus tab. Tap it and type a name (for example, an item or an add-on).
Using the search results
Results appear under Items & Modifiers, grouped by the menu they belong to. Each result shows where it lives (for example, “Filipino-style chow mein > Add-ons”) and its current status.
You can change an item's or modifier's status right from the results — no need to open the menu first.
Change an item's status
This is how you “86” an item the moment it runs out:
- Open the menu and stay on the Items tab.
- Tap a group to expand it. Each item shows its current status.
- Tap the item's status, then choose Available, Sold Out, or Hidden. The change applies right away.
The status options
When you tap an item's status, this panel appears:
- Available — guests can order it.
- Sold Out — shown but can't be ordered.
- Hidden — not shown to guests at all.
Sort groups and items
On the Items tab you can change the order things appear in:
- Use Sort at the top to reorder the groups (the sections of your menu).
- Expand a group and use its Sort to reorder the items inside it.
Change a modifier's status
Open the menu and tap the Modifiers tab. Each modifier option has a Status dropdown — tap it to turn the option on or off, the same way you change item status.
Reports
To review orders, open the Report tab, then Transactions. You can filter by date and tap any order to see its full details.
