The Checkout Flow tab controls what your kiosk asks customers for at checkout and how they receive their receipt. This guide covers collecting a customer name or phone number, offering cash payment, and setting up paper and SMS receipts.
Where to find these settings
- Log in to the Merchant Console.
- Open your kiosk settings. From the left-hand navigation menu, go to Device & Apps → Kiosk, then select the location you want to edit.
- Go to the Checkout Flow tab. Select the Checkout Flow tab and scroll to Steps 3 through 5.
Step 3: Order Name and Phone Number
Collects customer details to personalize order call-outs. Toggle each option on or off:
- Require Name — Asks for the customer's name at checkout.
- Require Phone Number — Asks for the customer's phone number so you can call them when their order is ready.
Step 4: Payment Instructions
Controls which payment options customers can choose at checkout.
- Cash Payment — Not Allowed for current HR integration
Step 5: Receipt Delivery Options
Decides how customers receive their order confirmation and receipts after payment.
- Enable Paper Receipt Printing — Allows customers to print an order receipt.
- Always Print Automatically — Prints a paper receipt automatically for every order.
- Custom display text (optional) — Add up to three lines of text to the receipt to reflect your brand tone or share promotional content (for example, a thank-you note or your social handle). Click Customize to edit these lines.
- SMS Receipt — Gives customers the option to receive a receipt by text message after payment is completed. (An additional $10 subscription fee is required)
Tips
- Turn on Require Phone Number if you call customers to the counter — it also enables phone-number-based order numbering if you use that option.
- Keep custom receipt lines short and general, since they show on every printed receipt.
- Use SMS Receipt alongside or instead of paper printing to cut down on paper use.
