How do I set up Cross-Sell on Kiosk?

Cross-Sell recommends add-on items to customers during ordering to help them discover more and increase order size. INFI supports both Smart (AI) Cross-Selling and Custom Cross-Selling, and lets you set rules at the order level or the item level. This guide walks you through it.

Getting there

1. Log in to the Merchant Console.
2. Open Cross Sell. From the left-hand navigation menu, go to Promotion → Cross Sell.
3. Select your location. Find your location in the list and click Manage to open its cross-sell settings. The Smart Cross-Selling column shows whether AI cross-sell is currently ON.

Two types of Cross-Sell

Inside a location, you'll see two tabs:

• Order-based Cross-Sell — Recommends up to 6 add-ons based on what customers already have in their cart.
• Item-based Cross-Sell — Every time a customer adds a specific item to the cart, immediately recommends a list of add-ons based on that item.

Smart Cross-Selling (INFI AI)

Automatically generates suggestions based on the current cart (or the selected item, on the Item-based tab) and regularly updated sales trends. Recommendations appear dynamically when relevant matches are found.

• Toggle Smart Cross-Selling on to enable AI recommendations.
• The Data Last Updated at timestamp shows when the AI last refreshed its sales analysis.
• On the Item-based tab, click View Rules to see the AI-generated cross-sell rules and selling items.

Custom Cross-Selling

Define your own rules for which items to recommend. Custom rules always appear before AI recommendations in the popup.

• Order-based: Toggle Custom Cross-Selling on, then choose up to 6 items to always recommend in the cart.
• Item-based: Click Create a Cross-sell to define which add-ons to recommend when a specific item is selected. Give the rule a name, pick the triggering (selling) item and the cross-sell items, and set its status.

Tips

• Use Custom rules to force specific pairings (for example, always suggest a drink with a combo), and let Smart Cross-Selling fill in the rest based on real sales trends.
• Since AI rules use the last 15 days of orders, recommendations improve as more orders come in.
• Each location is managed separately, so set up cross-sell for every location you want it on.
