The Page Layout settings control how your categories and menu items are arranged on the kiosk screen. You can choose from several layout styles in the Customize Kiosk Appearance page. This guide walks you through it.
Before you start: Page Layout lives on the same page as Theme Color and Font Family. If you're new to setup, you can also click Select a Template at the top of the page to start from a pre-designed look.
Step-by-step
- Log in to the Merchant Console.
- Open Customize Kiosk Appearance. From the left-hand navigation menu, select Customize Kiosk Appearance.
- Scroll to Page Layout. Below Theme Color and Font Family, you'll find the Page Layout section.
- Choose a Category List Layout. Select how categories are displayed — a list style (rows) or a grid style (tiles).
- Choose a Menu Layout. Select how items appear within a category. Options include a full list view and several grid / split-panel styles.
- Save your changes. Save to apply your selected layouts.
Layout options
Category List Layout — how customers see your categories:
- List — categories stacked in rows.
- Grid — categories shown as image tiles.
Menu Layout — how items appear within a category:
- List view — items in a single scrolling list.
- Grid view — items shown as image tiles.
- Split-panel views — a category sidebar on the left with items on the right (available in list or grid arrangements).
Applying the change to your kiosk
Changes may take a few minutes to appear on the kiosk. To apply them right away, use the on-screen Gear button on the kiosk and select Refresh Kiosk to pull the updated settings.
Tips
- Grid layouts work best when most items have images; list layouts are cleaner for text-heavy or image-light menus.
- Split-panel menu layouts help customers browse large menus without losing track of the category they're in.
- Theme Color and Font Family are on the same page, so you can adjust your full kiosk look in one place.
