How do I set up Tipping on Kiosk?

Tipping lets customers add a gratuity at checkout. You can turn tipping on per location and set up to three suggested tip percentages in the Merchant Console. This guide walks you through it.

Step-by-step

1. Log in to the Merchant Console.
2. Open the Tipping page. From the left-hand navigation menu, go to Settings → Tippings.
3. Select a location. Click the location you want to edit (for example, Square Test) to open its tipping settings.
4. Turn tipping on. Toggle Tipping On so it's enabled.
5. Enter your tip rates. Set Tipping Rate 1, Tipping Rate 2, and Tipping Rate 3 as percentages (for example, 10%, 15%, and 18%). These appear as the suggested tip options at checkout.
6. Save your changes. Click Save to apply the tipping settings for that location.

Tips

• Enter each rate as a whole number percentage — the % is added automatically.
• Common presets are 10% / 15% / 18% or 15% / 18% / 20% — choose what fits your service style.
• Each location has its own tipping settings, so turning tipping on for one location won't affect the others.
